November 7th

The first phase of the election process is the circulation of Designating Petitions. As per Election Law, a candidate for a local office must collect signatures on a petition that equal 5% of the total # of voters from each party that cast a ballot in the last Gubernatorial Election. Dan and his supporters have been out and about, knocking on doors, meeting residents and getting petitions signed.

Signatures may be collected up to and including July 12th, and the petitions must be filed with the Board of Elections by 5:00 pm on that day.

We filed our petitions for the Republican, Independence, and Conservative parties with the BOE on July 12th. The Democrats do not hold a Primary Election. They select their candidate by holding a caucus.

No petitions were filed challenging Dan for the Republican, Conservative, or Independence party lines. This means that there was no primary voting yesterday. Dan will appear on the ballot in November as the candidate for these 3 parties. The Democrats select their nominee by caucus. We have not heard from them as to whether or not they will be mounting a challenge in the November general election.

The Saratoga County Board of Elections has published the sample ballot for the November 6th General Election. Dan is running unopposed.

Our campaign is proud to be supported by the Saratoga County and Town of Saratoga Republican Committees. The Town Committee, chaired by Brandon Myers, hosted a breakfast and election rally yesterday. Judge Waldron was one of the honored guests along with other candidates who are either seeking re-election or are running for the first time: U.S. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, candidate for NY Assembly Morgan Zegers, Saratoga County Treasurer Drew Jarosh and Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. Thank you to all that attended and showed their support.
